Design Approach
From a young age, Ronak Hingarh was captivated by the intricate beauty of nature and human anatomy, which profoundly shaped his early artistic expressions. His passion for art and science gradually evolved into spatial compositions that formed the foundation of his unique design philosophy.
Ronak's thirst for multidisciplinary design led him to pursue a Master's degree in Architecture at the prestigious Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). There, he refined his distinctive design approach by blending ceramics, textiles, and architecture into innovative spaces. His dedication and curiosity earned him the RISD Graduate Travel Award, allowing him to explore bamboo architecture in South America, furthering his understanding of sustainable and nature-inspired design.
Before establishing Ronak Hingarh Design Studio [RH(a+d)], Ronak trained with renowned architects such as BV Doshi, Fernando Menis, and Ultramoderne. These diverse global experiences deeply influenced his design sensibilities, imbuing his work with an international outlook that balances cultural richness and innovative thought.
Beyond his design practice, Ronak is a passionate educator, mentoring students at prestigious institutions like RISD, NMIMS, and Raffles Design International. His teaching fosters a dynamic exchange of ideas and nurtures the next generation of designers.
A lover of nature, Ronak’s deep connection to the environment is a continuous source of inspiration, reflected in both his professional work and personal adventures in backpacking and mountain climbing through offbeat locations.
