A zoetrope is an animation device; an optical (cylindrical) toy when rotated at a specific speed creates an illusion of continuous motion.

Working on the same principle, the architecture of this lighting device was conceived as a result of a material study on earth, water, fire, and wind (ceramics x textile). 

The light-emitting from the center, filtered through the Zoetrope creates a dynamic and hypnotic experience for the user. A movement of time and speed through space.

We are currently working on creating full-scale prototypes of the Zoetrope that will be installed as a lighting fixture.
